I've found that the Chevy Malibu weighs 1850 kg. and a Jeep Sport weighs 1600 kg. is it true that the Malibu is havier than a Jeep??

Most likely yes. The Jeep XJ is a uni-body so they way far less than most cars..

I would also tend to agree with those estimates. Why not make a Cherokee as light as possible to get places that most heavier SUVs can't.

with all the added safty crap they have to put in each year - cars just get heavier and heavier...
