Question trouble shoot out

is there a way i can trick my fuel pump to not burn out again
after i replace it? i have an edge performance chip and throttel up grade.
i want to prevent from burning out again
any tips are much appricated

fuel pump problems are pretty rare. they don't get replaced all the time like gm trucks. 2000 has no fuel filter so there's no preventable maintenance to do. only thing you can do is avoid running it low on gas consistantly. the gas keeps the pump cool, when the pump is no longer submerged when you go low on gas, it gets hot. thats about it.

i have a cut out. do you think the back pressure could have a anything to do with it?
