So I got the new regulator in (98 4door front passenger window) and everything hooked up, but I just can't seem to get the window in straight. When I try to make it go up or down it gets caught on the stripping on the side and I have to pull it with my hands while using the switch. Any advice?

When your installing your regulator, you need to feed the window up through the stripping, and tape it there while you do the install. Or at least half way up. Regardless, you want the window sitting flush in the stripping before you bolt on the regulator. This insures it will glide up and down smoothly. You may need to plug the new regulator into the power connector, and roll it up into position. It looks like you're trying to bolt it down, with the window rolled all the way down.
I got my regulator from AMAuto Parts. Off their ebay store:

Not sure which you have, but this one was really easy to do. Also the design is updated. No more plastic worm screw, but steel cord. I recommend it.

I rolled it up half way so that I could get a dang socket wrench on the bolts to tighten the window. I couldn't figure out how to get the door lock/latch things apart from the door panel which really restricted my reach

You door handles are attached by two L-shaped rods. Follow these to the inside of your door panel (interior door panel), one points up into a colored plastic bracket/clip, the other points down into a different colored plastic bracket/clip.
You simply swing the clip around, disconnecting it from the L-rod, then pull the rod out. This will free your door panel from the handle.

It could be your window stripping is just bent out of shape and needs to be replaced. A cheap junk yard buy, if not for free.

Fixed it. The problem was that on the side closest to the front, the window was not inside in the soft part of the weather stripping. Instead it was on one side of it rubbing on the rubber which wouldn't allow it to go up. But now I ended up bending the door lock rod when I was working on it with it still connects to the panel earlier today and now the door won't lock! But it's too late for that today maybe this weekend. Thanks for the help guys.
