My welding skills are...well crappy at best. (OK, I get lucky now and then)

Cast iron? I believe that's tricky for a skilled welder. Being it's so brittle maybe part of the trick is to get the whole works xxxing hot? Bolts will be bolts. Sounds like you need new ones. Sorry Btw. That sounds like that sucks. JY manifold?

I wish I was able to get the manifold out. The bolt were so bad and I had to work later that day (like 4 hours later) but didn't want to get stuck if it took longer so I said **** it and will worry about it another day

Gotchya. It's your DD. I spent a weekend going over mine. Was lucky the header flange nuts were easy and the only bolt that broke was near the front. Not sure my drill would even reach some of the rear ones. Maybe pickle them good in Kroil or PB blaster. Smacking straight in on the head of the bolt can help shock it free. Also you can try going IN a tad. Use a 6 point if there is any question. One wrong move can really mess up your.........Ya-know. I just had a issue with a manifold on an old Onan generator. I almost decided to grind off the head of the bolt with an angle grinder so I'd have a stud to deal with instead of a broken bolt.

Well, best of luck. Maybe put the air cleaner back on and sleep on it.

Most of the time, welding exhaust manifolds doesn't really work.

If you break off bolts in the head that you can't get to, you gotta pull the head.

I've heard of welding a nut to the broken stud/bolt. Guess the hole comes in handy there. Haven't done it, but it was said that getting it that hot can make it easier to get out.

Then if you brake off an oil sender underneath an engine mount, you can always cut off an extractor, braze it to a nut, pry it in there, and unscrew it 1/12 of a turn at a time.

My buddy is also a yota guy, but gotta love him his brain is full of mechanic knowledge. What are other routes besides welding it? could I get one off a different car? or will I just have to get an aftermarket one? Thanks for all the help

Aftermarket APN header is what I have. Love it, and after almost 2 years, still solid!
