TRE from pitmen arm
Ok, so I need a little help.
Anyone got any good ideas on getting the TRE off the pitmen arm without destroying it? I have tried hammering on it a little but I don't want to bend or brake anything. I thought of getting a pickle fork, but the last time I did that it ruined the rubber...
So thoughts?

you can use a pitman arm puller, or just loosen the nut and hit the pitman arm with a hammer, right at the tre and it should just pop loose.
i have done it all three ways, including using a pickle fork. you just have to be careful not to tear the rubber. but if you have an old tre kicking around still, you could use that rubber.

u actually are not wailing on the tre. instead hit the metal that the tre goes through. there is usually a flat spot that u can hit. a few good shots usually does the trick

If you hammer it, then leave the nut on even with the top of the stud and put another hammer on it and hit the second hammer. That keeps the steel from deforming.
You can rent, borrow or buy a tie rod end puller. It will fit over the end of the pitman arm and then use an impact wrench or ratchet and socket. If it deosn't break loose, hit the top of the puller and it will
