So, I made a previous post asking about my 5 speed transmission in my 1987 Cherokee Pioneer seizing up. X. Turns out I have basically the worst transmission possible. It's a BA-10/15. I'm now looking into getting an AX-15 T5 transmission, or an automatic. What's the process of swapping out a BA-10/15 to a AX-15? My uncle, who's been helping me this entire time, told me that he's not sure if the bell housings are the same, that the drive lines may be different lengths, and that the transfer cases may need to be changed. I just need to know what I'm getting into here. I know a few people on my previous post talked about swapping transmissions in their Jeeps, I'd very much appreciate any advice you guys would be willing to give.
