my 89 cherokee has 185K and lately ive noticed a whine coming from the transmission. its 5 speed manual and the noise comes from all gears except 4th. other than that its drives and shifts smooth. This is my First jeep so please help. Is it a normal jeep thing or do i have problems?

O boy, well i have a super loud whine, its gotten worse and so will yours. Pray that you have a ax-15 not the ba10. Its a bearing on its way out. See if you can find a cheap tranny on c-list but if you dont mind the whine you can drive with it, i have the ba10 and its grinds when i shift and whines but i am driving it till its dead.

 

Please tell me where I find hydraulic line with small jack, between slave and master cylinder, for manual 5 speed transmission.
