So heres the situation. I have a 1990 2dr xj that i just did a engine transplant. while i had the engine out i decided to do the clutch as kind of a preventative measure. I got a Valeo clutch kit ( i was under the impression that was OE), came with throwout/slave asssembly as this is the internal slave 5speed. so heres the question. When i first start the jeep the pedal has to be all the way to the floor for it to not grind. and once the transmission gets warm like after an hour of driving. The transmision will stay in gear even with the pedal being pressed into the firewall. Just kind wondering what could be causing this. ive bleed this so many time and still have issuse. Possibly bad slave or master?

Try this:
Just sitting in the driver's seat, pump the clutch pedal about 50 times. Leave it alone for 10 minutes. Go back and check the pedal feel and fluid level.

So I tried this. Pedal feel is about the same. Pretty stiff until the last 2in to the floor. Then it get real soft. The fluid was right at the add line. So I'll add more and try again when I get off work.

The pedal has the correct amount of freeplay from where you touch it with your foot til you feel resistance in the pedal?
Look at the top of the pedal where the clutch master hooks up. Is the weld broken by chance?

Just looked. The welds arnt broken. Im wondering if the slave I just put in is a defect. Or if putting that in caused the master to go bad. It just seems like it loses pressure after driving. I can be sitting at a light and feel the clutch starting to not let me go in gear. I'll pump it up a few times and be good for a while again.
