Default Transmission trouble

My transmission is having problems. When I start it up, everything runs fine until I put it in reverse. It is like it does not actually shift, and I just begin slowly rolling down the driveway. Going forward works, until today, when I hit the gas, and I began to go, but the engine was revving way too high, and I had no power. Is this something that I can fix, or do I need a whole new transmission? Thanks.

What is the transmission fluid level and when is the last time its been changed? Keep it simple first.

The transmission fluid levels are normal, and look good, but I am not sure the last time that it has been replaced. I did notice however that the engine oil was low, so I am going to fill that up right now
