Default Transmission/Transfer case cleaning?

So I have the engne out, I dropped the tranny, and am cleaning up everything underneath. I found that the PO, or someone, had pinched and crimped the transmission cooler lines all but shut. There was also a bad oil leak from the VC and the whole transmission tunnel was covered in oil, as well as the tranny/xfer case. The tranny obviously got hot, due to the crimped lines. Now the transmission/xfer case has a nice shellac type coating. I was wondering if something like Alumabrite would be ok to use on the case to strip off the deposits. Anyone ever used anything like that before to clean the tranny case?

Pressire washer. Try scrubbing with normal dish soap, it's a great degreaser lol

I have been using a pressure washer, and have used Dawn on it, and engine degreaser, aluminum wheel cleaner. The "shellac" from the oil just doesnt want to come off.
