Default Transmission swap
I have a 1990 Cherokee 4x4 automatic (AW4) Command-trac. I'm considering doing a transmission swap out of a 1991 Cherokee automatic 2x4. Does anyone know if this transmission will bolt right up?

Hi, as long as the trans is coming from the same motor (4.0/2.5) it should bolt up NP...Tj

Your converting the Jeep to 2wd?

You cannot use a 2wd transmission and expect to bolt your transfercase back up.

2wd trans has longer tailhousing than 4wd, will need a new tailshaft and pull apart transmission, might as well rebuild the old trans at that point,
