Default Transmission solenoid problem

98 XJ threw a code for lock up solenoid. I bought all 3 new ones and replaced them. Now I get a code for the 1-2 solenoid. I checked them and the old ones had bad lockup solenoid and the other 2 were fine. ALL the new ones work but still get 1-2 shift solenoid code. Any ideas on it?

They look fine. Is the 1-2 solenoid the same as the 3-4? New parts showed same part number.

I cannot answer your question...but happen to be on RockAuto website, and notice that they have a common part number for 1st and 2nd, but a different part number for 3rd...

Thank you. That may very well be my problem. When I order the 3 solenoids I got the same part number for 1-2 & 3-4. I could put the old ones back in but I don't know which one went where and they look identical to me.

Was just told the 2 shift solenoids are the same. I'm screwed.

Solenoids 1&2 are the same part. Where did you get the solenoids? It wouldn't be unheard of to get a bad new one.
I'd try measuring the resistance when they are cold, then again after a short drive when they've warmed up. You can do that at the TCU connector.
