At this point it wouldn't hurt to take a bit of fluid out. Don't think it will help though.

Haven't made any progress yet as I've had to neuter my two pups and refill my propane tank in the past two weeks.

But now the shifting issue seems to just happen every once and awhile, even with the extreme cold this areas been having. Trans temps seem to be fluctuating as normal 130-160ish.

Check Engine light is still ON. I asked the guy at O'Reillys to clear all codes and he said that feature was broke on his scanner...disclaimer on printed copies of the codes he pulled said their employees will not clear codes. I figured the codes would clear if there was no faults after a certain period of time/ignition attempts.

I still have a loud whirring noise coming from underneath. After listing again I'm sure its inside the bell housing/torque converter area. Goes away when trans temp is warmed up.

check the Throttle Positioning Sensor. mine was doing the same thing, except it didn't get any better after warming up. tried all kinds of things before the TPS. it tells the tranny when to shift.

Thanks for the advice but I have checked its operation by doing some tests at the TCM plug. The TPS was a thought I had in the beginning but based on these tests and all my symptoms I'm going to rule that out.

Transmission is currently overheating and slipping to the point its not driveable. Pulling it this weekend and installing new tranny mid week. Thanks to all who have helped with their input!
