i have a 96 cherokee sport 4.0 Litre high output 4 speed aoutomatic motor with overdrive and i want to change my transmission fluid and filter. i have all the fluid filter and gasket but i was getting ready to take it apart and i then i seen 2 hoses coming out of the passenger side of the pan... Is there any special precautions about that or do i need to disconnect it somehow? i need some help please!

I believe one of those is the stick to check the level of the fluid... Not sure what the other one is. I did this last year and I believe I disconnected the two. Pretty much step by step instructions can be found here...

I have (2) '96s with AW4 trans and neither has anything except the dipstick tube attached to the pan, and that is a metal tube.
Hoses attached to the pan? Where do the hoses go? Do you have an accessory trans cooler?
The pan isn't pressurized, so no worries there. Drain the fluid, and drop the pan. There is a bolt on the bell housing that holds the dipstick tube in place. The OE dipstick tube is a 2-piece unit that may or may not come apart.

Theres two hoses, one on the upperside and one on the passenger side pan. Im not worried about the first hose, but do i need to disconect that dipstick hose to pull the pan down? And no aftermarket stuff, 100% stock.
