Default Transmission Return/Outlet Line

Have a few questions about these lines. Im getting ready to replace these lines, I already have the lines.
What I'm confused about is that I keep reading about some o rings that need to be installed with the lines.
From what I understand the o rings go inside this piece here that threads onto the transmission....

I have a new one of these but it didn't come with any o rings and there doesn't seem to be any o rings inside of it.
Wondering if I need to get o rings seperately or if I just install it how it is. And what were to happen if I install the new of these and new lines.
and if I do need the o rings which exact ones do I need and where can I get them????

There are two o-rings inside of the female connectors at the transmission. When I replaced mine, I used a DORMAN 800750 kit for the plastic connector and the orings.

Here is the connector with the orings:

Thank you. I assume if you don't use the o rings it will leak??? @dzywicki

I would assume the oring are there for a reason. That is definitely s fiddly connector. The plastic piece around the tube clips into the larger connector to hold it in. I would think it would leak a lot without the orings. I bought one of those connectors that you reference and it had orings in it already. They are buried in there pretty well. I actually bought the other Dorman piece for the plastic connector. I have done this reapair on 2 different XJs and those plastic clips break every time. I tried some other connectors but they did not work. finally found that one and it works great.

If you bought something like this:

then it will already have the orings in it, at least the ones I have purchased had orings.

I actually got those same exact ones you mentioned from amazon.
So you said those come with o rings already in them??
If so then I should be good to install them already.. @dzywicki
