The trick is trying to get them out with the plastic breaking. Mine were full of gunk and I had spares so I just ripped mine out haha

Removed the transfer case today, getting those top bolts out wasnt easy, had to lower the tranny/TC to get them.

OK, down to the wire, i just have 2 bolts left to take out the tranny. URGENT QUESTION--- Do I need to support the engine while I pull out the tranny? Will the motor mounts sufficently support the engine with the transmission pulled out? I need to know this... THANKS!!

The exhaust will hold the engine up some what, but it's a good idea to support the engine so you don't strain the exhaust header and down pipe.

It's really difficult to take the trans out while leaving the exhaust on. I know people have done it but it isn't worth the hassle.

Thanks. I have disconnected the exhaust at the manifold, so it's not really supporting anything. I put a jack and 2x4 under the old pan to support the back of the engine. so far, so good, Thanks!!
