Transmission removal
I left the tcase on, but if you can get to all the bolts I would imagine having them separate would be best.
The tcase weighs damn near as much as the trans, so keep that in mind.
Also, make sure the trans and tcase are supported when you remove the crossmember.
I had a jack under the tail cone, the jack failed. My head got caught between the side of the tcase/crossmember and the ground. Only thing that saved me was the placement of the jack. Luckily the tailcone landed square on the jack body, my wife would have come to check on me and found me dead.
