Default Transmission Problems?

Just a question, but I bought my Jeep Cherokee a little over a year ago, and about 2 months and 1,500 miles after I bought it, the transmission needed to be rebuilt. Luckily it had a 3 month, 3,000 mile warranty. The transmission place said the warranty company was giving me an option, I could either get a used transmission from another Jeep with 58,000 miles on it for free, or have mine completely rebuilt for $500, I chose the rebuild because it came with a warranty. The Jeep only had 76,000 miles on it and was (and still is) in immaculate condition.

Since I had it rebuilt, I drove it to Texas and my check engine light came on, and again, something in the transmission wasn't working correctly, something about the solenoid and torque converter. I didn't notice any problems, just the engine light. It was under warranty from the transmission rebuild, so it was replaced for free.

I heard from somebody that Jeeps have transmission problems more frequently than other cars. Is this true? I haven't had any issues since.

Actually, the AW4 is one of the better trans. out there. Very few have problems. Might be time for a new TQ converter. And you did not have your trans rebuilt at Aamco, did you?

No, and I never will. A mechanic in my family recommended a place nearby, and I will go back there in the future if I have any problems.

I already had my torque converter and solenoid replaced, it was a sad week not having my Jeep. Like I said, no problems since.

theres a cable on the throttle body that is connected to the transmission, and if its adjusted wrong it makes the transmission shift wierd and act like its slipping, the torque converter would be the last thing to go bad in the transmission.
