transmission pan
I have a 2000 Cherokee with a AW4 transmission. I am trying to change the fluid and filter. I have empty the fluid and pulled all the bolts out of the pan. My question is what do you do with the stupid dipstick the runs into the front right corner of the pan. Can I just pull it out of the pan or do I have to unbolt if from the engine block and snake it down through there to get the pan low enough to change the filter.
Thanks for the help

The dipstick is two pieces and should come apart. However, it gets rusty in there and siezes up. Plus there's an o-ring in the too add to the difficulty.
If it won't budge just go ahead and unbolt it from the bell housing (I think that's what it's bolted to.
I had to get one sperated recently I just let it soak with PB blaster for about a week and let gravity do the majority of the work. It broke free, but not without a fight.
