so i have a 1995 XJ…5spd manual..and last week out at the apex's in vegas i was doing easy hill and next thing i know my shift and tranny either rotated/shifted/moved to the right…the entire shifter did…so where my 3rd gear should be …was my first…and i could only get 1st and 2nd gear to engage…could not go into reverse…so i drove it home from apex, bout 25 miles fine in first and second…took apart my console. got all gears to engage with just the whole there…i noticed my heat shield/metal w.e thing that is there was getting hit against by the shifter…but all gears work..goes in reverse fine and everything…since than i have replaced my tranny mount. and have hit a brick wall with ideas. any help/suggestions be awesome?

Go outside, pop the hood and look at your passenger side motor mount. I'd bet it doesn't look happy.
There's only 2 things it could be.
You should post pictures for clarity.

Is the passenger side mount broken off of the block?
Unless the unibody is FUBARed beyond belief then the only that would allow the engine/transmission to rotate is the motor mounts and transmission mount.
When you're out there taking pictures be sure to take a picture of the transfer case linkage rod that runs from the body to the transmission. It'll be perpendicular to the side of the transmission.

Personally I would do both but that's me. It really depends on how bad the engine shifted and it did any damage to the other. If it looks like it twisted the one that didn't snap I would change it because if it twisted it enough more then likely it will fail sooner or later.

You don't have to but I would suggest it.
I use my engine hoist to hold the weight of the engine but you can use a floor jack just as easily. Be careful not to bend your oil pan.
Remove the motor mount, remove the engine bracket and replace it. Shouldn't be difficult.
Now would be a great time to upgrade to Brown Dog motor mount brackets if you can spare the cash. Definitely a worth while upgrade.
