Hey- quick question... can you strip the bolts out of a Trans mount?
I changed mine and the 4 bus in the mount, I was wondering, are they mounted in the rubber? Or welded to the steel plate under the rubber? It seems one is turning with the nut. Can't see it but was just wondering?

98 like mine, 2 outer bolts go into nuts welded on the cross member. The 2 inner bolts go into an aluminum boss which is part of the transfer case. Yes you can strip the threads in the aluminum. Drill them out and replace with bolts and lock nuts. not likely you stripped the outer bolts welded to the cross member, but if you did, you could drill one size larger and re-tap the threads or weld new nuts, or grab a junkyard cross member for a few bucks.
