Default Transmission idenfication help

Hello all,
I am trying to find the correct throwout bearing for my 91 xj 4x4. My problem is that I have no idea what transmission is in the thing. Long story short, I bought the jeep and the PO had done a 5 speed swap.

Tranny does not have any id badges but I dont know if he took them off. I did find build numbers on the bottom of the case which makes me think that the tranny is an AX. But I do not know if it is an AX-4, 5, or 15.

My throwout bearing is shot and I need to know which is the right one to order... HELP PLEASE!

Yeah I went through all of Novak's pages but there is still doubt in my mind if the transmission is a AX5 or AX15. I was just on the phone to quadratec and they told me that there is no adapter for an AX5 to a 4.0l engine. Is there a surefire way of telling if the transmission is what it is? if it helps the Tcase is a NP242.

I have racked just about everything and there is still a shadow of a doubt as to the year/make/model of the transmission. And as you guys already know the replacement parts do not span a lot of possibilities

Google "AX5 vs AX15" and look at the pics. AX5 is shorter than the 15 and visually different. If its behind the 4.0L then its probably the 15 cause I dont think the 5 will handle the torque.

Might have swapped a T5 from a Wrangler or CJ.
