Default Transmission going to shoot???

Almost forgot about this one.

This happens once in a while, but when it does, it's very nerve racking.

At a dead stop, sometimes my jeep will not move. I press on the accelerator, but nothing happens, and it will just rev up until about 2000 RPM, then the transmission will kick in, and the jeep will lurch hard, then drive fine.

Put it this way. *slows to a stop at a light. waits for green, turns green, then wwwaaAHHHH (revving lol) CLUNK(kicks in) vrooom drives off fine*.
The torque converter maybe?

Called a local mechanic radio show, and he said it might be a computer control issue, to where it isn't sending a signal to the tranny to go into gear?

i assume the fluid level is good? if the level is good then it sounds more like a torgue converter than computer issue,it is possible it could be the tps,but I would thinf that a computer or tps issue would be at other times also,my check the tps just to make sure though, you can check it with a volt meter the range is o -.50 volts approx.

TPS? my 92 is doing the exact same thing. The fluid is virtually gone so I will be draining what is in there, and refilling tonight.

mine also while idle at a light will lurch forward while holding the brakes.
