About 20 minutes of pb blaster and I was able to adjust it. Still no adjustable from the tb, but putting the pedal to the floor and it clunked out to the proper position.

Going to do another drain and fill, I want this fluid perfectly red. I have a Throttle Position Sensor coming from RockAuto and an alternator, get those on this weekend and I should be all set. Think I'm going to work my cables too with some PB Blaster, probably need it. Thanks everyone, you guys rock. Who knew owning a Cherokee was going to be so much fun. I have a Jeep wrangler too, do lots of wheeling with our club, but the Cherokee is my daughters ...

There's an app called "SuperPhoto" that you can download on your phone, it works on iPhones and Androids. Basically, you launch the app, choose a filter (I chose "painting") and then open a photo, if you like it you can save it. It makes for very cool photo's ... And it's free ...

The AW4 is a robust little sucker! Hope it all works out perfectly. A new TPS, and fresh fluid really made mine come back to life at 175K

It's way more robust than anything out of Detroit.

That is the understatement of the century. I've seen these trans hold 1000+ HP with clutches and line pressure mods.

Is it OK to use cheap stuff rather than dex/merc to do a drain and fill then do the last fill with dex/merc or do I need to do them all with the high dollar stuff?

Dex/Merc is a TYPE of fluid. Use any BRAND you want.

Dex/Merc is what you want, whether it be Valvoline or store brand.

Don't let the counter guys tell you something different. Some will insist it's a Chrysler trans so does not use Dex/Merc. Just smile pleasantly and buy the Dex/Merc.
