OK what auto transmission fluid is clear synthetic????
cus thats what is in my Cherokee now and I need to add a little but have never had any thing but red fluid before

 

clear? dunno. ive never seen any clear ones before... redline, motul, mobil1, royal purple, amsoil... all the big names are tinted some sort of color.

 

I bought a 2001 Cherokee last week (91K miles) and when I checked the transmission fluid it was pretty clear ( honey color ) , not the usual red. It doesn't smell burnt and transmission shifts are smooth. Looking through all the maintenance records I noticed that the previous owner had the transmission fluid and filter changed at 81k. The repair invoice showed six (6) quarts of Royal Purple Max ATF synthetic fluid, a transmission filter, and associated labor. I know that part of my transmission fill is Royal Purple Max synthetic ATF, but don't know if that is why it not the dark red color.
