Default Is Transmission Filter on 2000 XJ Reusable?

I'm prepping to do a transmission oil change on my 2000 XJ automatic, and this is my first time. I'm not sure if the transmission filter should be replaced, or just cleaned and reused. I could save about $20 if I only had to get a gasket. Also, if I did have to get a whole kit, with the filter, then which kit do you recommend? Would I have to use solvent to clean off old gasket and if so, which solvent would you use? Also, will the pan come down easily just by unscrewing 19 screws and filler tube not get in the way?

The filter kits found in www.partsamerica.com:

FT1102A Fram Transmission Filter Kit: With RN8011 Gasket $22.99
745118 Pioneer Prods. Transmission Filter Kit $38.99
TF271 ACDelco Transmission Filter Kit $31.99
FK227 Pro King Transmission Filter Kit $24.99

Thanks in advace,

Save the hassle of trying to clean it...replace it.

FrankZ -- Thanks for the feedback. I will also replace the filter.

To all, which kit do you prefer? Any pros and cons?

Hayden used to make a pretty complete high quality kit but I have used the B&M kit in my truck(Chevy) and was pretty happy with it.
