I honestly plan on draining and refilling my 97 Jeep XJ. I just hit 212k miles and I think its in time for a change. I have done the oil/transfer case and both differentials a month ago.
Would you guys recommend what I said to drain and refill like 3 times over a week? Or do a flush? I have heard of issues with high mileage transmissions getting flushed causing big problems.
Is it very easy to drain and refill a few times? Would love opinions. There's a drain plug right?
Thanks,
Jay

Don't flush it. I get people at work asking me all the time to do a flush and if it's over ~140k I refuse to do it. Too many lpotential problems. I would only flush a transmission if it had been kept up per manufacturers spec from day one. 99% of the time it hasn't.

My dang drain plug is stripped from top to bottom, it just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. No power tools either, it's gonna be a bear to get off.
