Default Transmission/clutch question

I have a 1994, 4 cylinder, 2WD Cherokee with a 5 speed manual transmission. Twice now, I have had this happen:

Push in the clutch and I feel/hear a pop, and I can't get into a gear at all. After trying and trying, I can finally get into gear and after shifting into first, everything seems normal. No problem shifting after that.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck causes this? I've had it in the shop once for it and they replaced the clutch master and slave and the fluid reservoir. Charged me $450 and it just happened again an hour ago.

Any ideas?

I think so. I'm calling them Monday and talking to them. I'm pretty damn mad at the moment. Almost $500 to have it fixed and then it does it again less than a month later.
