Transmission
My daughter has a 1996 jeep with an automatic transmission and it wont shift into gear. The transmission line broke as she was driving it to school but only a few feet from parking. I changed the line in it but now the engine changes RPMs when it is shifted but it seems like the transmission doesn't go into gear. When it was towed back to my house and it was being rolled off the flat bed it changed gears from park to neutral but that was it. any ideas?

Check the cable on the left side of the tranny to make sure she's good. Hows the fluid level? If too low it won't go into gear. Have you dropped the pan yet?

The cable seems to be good I had her shift gears while I was under it and it moved fine. When I replaced the hose I topped off the fluid and its good. I haven't dropped the pan yet but if I do what may it be? I thought maybe it could be the solenoid.
