I am contemplating on what to do for my tranny. i have the aw4. should i get another aw4 and just put it in, or should i get an ax15 and have a tranny shop put it in? I like manuals and im sick of my auto, it has slipping problems and its basically a peice of crap. so which one should i do? ax15 or aw4?

Doing a manual swap can be a fairly expensive job, not to mention frustrationg and complicated. You would probably need a donor truck for the pedals and all the other parts to convert to manual. Probably better off just buying a 5-spd XJ if you want one. The AW4 is an awesome tranny, and most seem to prefer it offroad, including myself.
