Default transfer case rebuild 231

My transfer case is starting to go out you can hear the chain slipping over the teeth on the sprockets i started to buy a used case from the JY but i got looking and for about the same price I can get a rebuild kit. I figure that's gonna be better than another old chain running inside that's probably already stretched out. My question is where's a good place to buy a kit for a decent price i don't want to buy a piece of junk that's gonna tear apart again in a year or so. I found some kits at quadratec, east coast gear supply, and jb conversions for between 150 to 200 but I'm not sure about the quality. They claim to be good strong parts but doesn't everyone say there stuffs the best.

There all basically the same parts. They don't manufacture them themselves. 231 rebuild is easy, just make sure you got the tools. There are plenty of wirte-ups and videos on the web for the rebuild. I would get the bigger/improved chain though.

Group buy has some good parts: http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/dri...-c-40_110.html

Also, Advance Adapters: http://www.advanceadapters.com/

Great products, but a little pricey.

I got the JB Conversions kit. Really quality stuff, although the customer service wasn't the best... Ended up taking almost a month to get everything. Also, that kit doesn't come with the chain and it sounds like you definitely need one. Super easy to rebuild. You could probably get a used case at the JY a lot cheaper that would last a long time, but it's nice to know exactly what you got going on in there.
