I have a 95 cherokee sport ,4.0 ,auto . I have been looking for a used one to slap in to get me going . The salvage yards i`ve been to tell me that 94 & 95 are the only 2 years that will fit, does anyone know if this is true? It has a 231j in it now with a big hole in the bottom of the case. I have found a tc thats a 231 but the guy said it had a yoke on the output shaft and mine has splines can i swap output shafts ? Any direction would be helpful.

 

if that case will fit use it instant sye just get new drive shaft made

you need a short input 23 spline case. they were in 91+ cherokees and any ax15 from 94 - cherokee

Does anyone know of a good place to go that might have some info on what tc can be swaped with one another. I have found several tc,s but not sure if they will fit. Such as a 99 , 231j out of a wrangler? I have done the search , just not having much luck.The wife wants her car back but not as much as i want my jeep back.
