Default Transfer case position indicator lights?

ok guys I'm swapping my trans and t case out of my 96 cherokee into my 2wd comanche. my question is does any one know how the indicator light system for a NP242 t case works? i need to figure out how it works so i can wire up the indicator lights up when i do the swap. i assume that when you change gears in the t case it tiggers a switch that turns on the light when it engages.

so can any one tell me how it works so i can figure out how to wire up my lights?

The 'indicator switch' screws into case and is a 'spring-loaded ball plunger' type with two wires. The indicator ball rides on notches, when TC is shifted, the ball in the switch moves in and out accordingly.

oh ok that is pretty simple. should be pretty easy to wire up a dedicated circuit just to light up the indicator bulbs then right?

two? I think it's three wires, because he's swapping in a NP242
