Transfer case output shaft movement
The guys at the 4WD shop started installing my HnT SYE today and the called me and said that when they unbolted the drive shaft, the mechanic noticed that the output shaft moved in and out of the transfer case 1.25 inches. They asked me if I wanted to wanted them to crack open the tcase and figure out what is causing that. I said sure. The guy on the phone told me that the mechanic said that he thinks a snap ring may have broken off.
Now, I know nothing about how tcases work, so what do you guys/gals think? Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

Ok well good news, the mechanic called again and said that the snap ring that broke was just on the inside of the seal, so they never had to crack my tcase open. Then he said that they drove it and that the vibrations I was feeling were very small and nothing I should worry about, and they suggested that I don't get the SYE and DS!! I was pumped. So later I'll go pick it up and get ready for wheeling!!
