Default Transfer Case Oil Pump

I probably know the answer to this question, but hell ...maybe someone has another fix I'm not aware of or cannot find.

I was taking apart my transfer case for an SYE install and noticed the oil pump came out WITH the speedo housing (RTV had stuck the two together). Because of this, the port where the pickup tube goes got broken. There isn't enough meat there to keep the o-ring snug. I called the dealer and they have a new pump for $78 with a one week delivery.

Any other fixes out there or should I just stop being impatient? Really wanted to measure up for the new driveshaft! Thanks in advance.

Buy a new one.

I bought one off of Morris 4x4.

I just assumed it was a dealer-only part; didn't even think to check aftermarket sources. At half the cost and probably faster shipping, this looks like the best solution. Thanks!

Good call on the wanted section. Not sure I have a junkyard local enough for it to be worth it.

I had a similar issue with mine when I installed my SYE. I also bought mine through Morris, inexpensive and shipped fast. I believe that I had a snap ring between the pump & the tail shaft housing....

Thanks everyone. I found a good deal on Amazon for an Omix-Ada pump; went ahead and got a new chain, as well.

For what exactly? The pump comes with the seal pressed in and I have whatever seals came with the SYE kit.

Ah right I forgot about the SYE kit. I was thinking with all that effort, bearings and seals all around makes sense. With the SYE though about the only thing going untouched will be the front output.

There is a new seal for the front output that came with the SYE kit. Its the cog looking seal.
