acm on a 99
OK guys. Owned my 99 for quite awhile. At 302k the engine gave up last year. Took a year, but I'm back on the road. I have some time to address some things. Airbag light has been on since I owned it. I was going to tackle it today, went to look under the seat and uh.... there is no acm. Would it be located elsewhere? Thanks.

Before working on the ABCM, or any part of the Airbag system, disconnect the battery negative post connector for a minimum of 5 minutes. There's a failsafe capacitor in the ABCM that will deploy the airbags if they don't deploy the first time around. Disconnecting the battery will disipate the capacitors.
Also, for your own good, I suggest you unplug the Airbag Quick Disconnect (yellow connector shown in below pic). The Airbag Quick Disconnect isolates both Airbags from the ABCM. To access it you have to remove the trim panel and knee blocker from below the steering column. Just a few screws will remove them.
Do not use an Ohmmeter to check the Airbag circuits with everything hooked up.

Ok. Thanks. I think I'll just live with the airbag light on. I unhooked the ACM and hooked it back up to see if maybe the connection was bad. Still on.
