I'm installing a 1 inch drop on my transfer case but the damn mounting stud is stripped. I tried the 2 nut method and used wd-40 that was sprayed the previous day to soak in. But now the threads are all stripped and having a pain in the *** time removing this stud. I tried vise grips with no luck. Any one with any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I do not have any welding gear so I cannot weld a nut to it. I guess I can try a pipe wrench since the threads sheared off of it, but I'm going to wait and see others ideas. Thank you

I use an itty bitty pipe wrench for such tasks. My son the plumber laughs at it, but it works well for stud removal
