I have a 99 XJ, when the trans heats up after an hour or so on the trail it slams into gear when changing to reverse or back into drive. It also comes out of gear sluggish when I put my foot on the brake and keep it in drive. I have some stalling and running rough when hot also, not sure if related. I just changed the fluid and filter, fluid level is fine. when cold it shifts and runs fine. any suggestions.
