I'm gonna do some tune-up stuff this weekend, and I need to know what type of trans fluid to put in my AW4. I've heard conflicting opinions, so what are you guys running? Also, what weight gear oil should I use for the front and rear diffs (and how much do I need)? Any additives or anything I should get as well? I'm not a big additive guy, but if there is something that works like it advertises I'll give it a try. Thanks guys.

Trans takes Dexron/Mercon same in the T-case and the diffs run 80/90 or 75/140. If you have posi you will need a friction modifier in the diffs. If the diffs get heavy use, like a lot of trailer towing i would go with the 75/140 synthetic

x2.. The only thing I would add is make absolute sure you are getting dexron III or IV. Dex 6 is COMPLETELY different and not intended for your tranny at all. Dex III is the best one, but it is becoming harder to find. A good quality fluid should be purchased not some el-cheapo convience store brand.
The T-case is the same as the tranny. Good quality Dex III is the best.
The diffs look for a GL-4 if available. A GL-5 will work, so will a GL-3, but no GL-6(extremely hard to find). Good products here need no additives, except in the case of a Limited slip unit in the dif. Then 4 oz of LSD addtive to the fluid is the recommended amount.

Don't have an owner's manual, or I wouldn't be asking.
I also don't have a Haynes, but I could probably find one at work tomorrow. Just figured someone would know off the top of their head.

Skarpenz I think you have more than enough info now to do a fluid change unless you need to know how much blinker fluid you need too.
