Thanks for the info.
Experience says installing with outlets pointing down can cause air to become trapped in top of cooler. All the instructions refer to this also, especially coolers with a temperature senders. Mounting down will cause improper readings.
For my application and terrain, flowing fluid into radiator cooler first just raises the temp of the coolant, which is working hard enough to cool the engine.
The B&M transmission cooler bypasses the cooling plates until fluid reaches temp.

That's why I contacted B&M by phone and was told by one of their engineers that the mounting direction did not matter since the tranny fluid is pressurized by a positive displacement pump and any air would quickly be pushed thru the system as soon as the motor was started. I'm not familiar with a tranny cooler having a temp gauge sending unit mounted in the cooler......maybe a thermal switch for a small fan attached to the cooler, but not for temp gauge inside the cab. Temp gauge sending unit should be mounted as close as possible to the heat source (the tranny).....kinda like the engine coolant temp sending unit is mounted at the motor, not the radiator.
