trannys

i have a 99 jeep cherokee sport vin (1J4FF68S2XL602631) with a bad tranny,,my question is Would a 89 cherokee vin (1J4FJ38L7KL440915) fit and is there any unforseen problems with this exchange

my guess would be that as long as they are the same tranny then it will bolt up you may have to grab the tcu out of the jeep with the good tranny tho

your 99 cherokee trans has a 23 spline output and the 89 trans only has a 21 spline output i believe.
