Default tranny/t-case problem any info please

92 laredo 4.0 auto np231 tcase. Kept popping out of range thought it was t-case still dont have 4 lo...any how pulled in the yard it popped out cycled t-case lever and tranny selector and found that if i go fron netural to 1st shr goes normally get up to speed she draggs into 2nd then the rest is fine. When i slow to a stop sometimes she will go most of the time i have to cycle the tranny selector and shift manually. Problem is worse when in 4 hi. The jeep sat since 98.

I have changed the fluid in the t-case and did a filter in the tranny ahe took tge 4 quarts they recommended. Any suggestions?
