Actually, I'm not suggesting you replace anything before testng the circuiits. If you've already bought a TPS I'm sure you're gong to install it.

that OSS or VSS looks like it needs to be adjusted when its installed? is there a write up anywhere covering the installation of this unit?

The OSS needs no adjustment.
