Default Tranny Filter

Well today I decided to change my tranny filter and well all I can say is it aint fun!

I havent got the pan all the way out yet due to my exhaust being extremely in the way, has anybody else had this problem? I searched on here and found the cure to the dipstick problem but nobody talking about their exhaust being really close to the front of the pan.

Just wondering if anybody could help me out with this and how to get the SOB out.

thanks in a advance for any info

Yeah, I did mine a couple months ago.
I unbolted the exhaust at the manifold to lower it a little.
I also put a jack under the transfer case, and removed the crossmember, and tranny mount cause that was in the way also.
Made it way easier to remove the pan, after some crazy jiggying to get the dipstick separated.

Wish I could offer you some help but i did mine last March and had no issues

matter of fact i was at like 80xxx miles and once i opened it i found i really didnt need to do it, but at least now i know its clean in there and is all ready to go for another 50xxx+ miles

though i do think i had to re-weld the dipstick and braze the pan with my welder a bit iirc
but it wasnt a problem other than that

Yea I figured I was going to have to unbolt it, trying to see if there was a way I could get around doing it so thats one less thing that could break haha.
