Default Tranny coolant & ac line removal?!

Is there a trick to these sob's? Can't get any of them to release?

Trying to get as much done before I send it to the body, trying to save a salvage.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Looks like you are using the right tools.

They are buggers.

Try spraying penetrating oil inside of the connectors and go at it again tomorrow.

Spray a cleaner in the fitting first, then PB blaster or wd40.
It should break free then.

I am guessing the second shot is the tranny line going into the bottom of the radiator. Get a flarenut wrench or a flarenut crowfoot, I think it is 21MM, and remove the elbow off the radiator. When I replaced the radiator in my '00 it was just easier to do that and then I had more room to maneuver to get the elbow off the tranny line. Probably a lot of gunk in there which is why when you are pushing down with the fuel line tool it is not releasing the tabs to let you pull off the line. After I removed my radiator I could see that the tranny line was a little worn from rubbing the steering box so said screw it and replaced that too. Little Vaseline is usefull when putting it back together so as not to roll the O-Ring in there.

I ended up cutting them at the radiator so I could keep the main hoses/tubes that connect to the tranny and ac intact. I had to get the radiator out so I could return it and get my core charge.

I sprayed pb and left it yesterday morning. Might have time to go at it again on Wednesday evening, I will let you know how it goes, or doesn't, lol.....

Thanks for the info.

Jack, the trick is to spray into the fitting to get all the dirt and crud out.

Yep. And a blast of compressed air if you have it available. Crud gets in there and prevents the little fingers from moving, so they can't release.

It's a stupid design, and I prefer to cut them out and use hose and clamps instead.

Edit to my previous post. I used a 19mm, not a 21mm, flarenut crowfoot to get the elbow off the radiator.
