Trailer Wiring Short Issue
Hey guys,
I keep blowing the 10A minifuse to my driver side running lights. If I have my running lights on without my boat trailer connected to the harness, the lights work fine. As soon as I connect my trailer harness to the xj harness the fuse instantly blows. This tells me there is a direct short in the trailer wiring, correct?
So far I have found and repaired a spot where a field mouse ate into the wiring on the trailer, other than that I have searched high and low for any other bad spots in the wiring and I'm positive there are none.
The lights are all water resistant LED.
I picked up a resetable 10A minifuse to use for my trouble shooting. Any tips on where to go from here? I'm down to trying ohm out each wire on the trailer.
Thanks guys.

Thanks for the reply, i will pick up a new connector after work and give that a shot. I did find cobwebs inside the plug, and I've run into that in the HVAC field where voltage gets transfered through the silk and shorts circuit boards out. After cleaning out the webs there was no change.

Just wanted to close this thread out:
Problem was in fact a bad trailer lighting converter box. Had significant voltage drop through converter. Replaced with new and all lights work properly.
Thanks Cruiser!
