Tracking down a short..multimeter noob

Default Tracking down a short..multimeter noob

Looking to chase down a short/drain in my kids Cherokee...whats the procedure? I bought a multimeter yesterday but the directions suck...I was trying to do the cont. test...test light and pulling fuses till the light goes out..kinda hard when its a 1 man team....any suggestions?

Basically, you have to hook the meter up in series with the main battery cable so it is reading amps. Then start pulling fuses until the amps go to zero to find which circuit is the culprit.

easier way use atest light take the negative bat cable off hook the test light to the cable and other end to bat pull fuses until light goes out you will get a little draw from the clock and radio memory keep interior light button for door pushed in and disconnect hood light if you have one
