Default Track Bar Mods for 3" Lift

Is there anything that needs to be done to the factory trac-bar for just a 3" lift. I bought a used kit and after ready many other manufactors install sheet (None with mine), 90% I've found all had either a new track-bar bracket or moved the track bar 3/4" over and drilled a new hole. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've noticed it's mainly on the pre-97 Cherokee's. Every DIY Install i've read no one has ever mentioned having to do anything with the track-bar. Even the Ebay 3" Budget lift kits, the guy says nothing's needed besides in his kit, which is normally just to sell. But I just wanted to see if anyone else had ran into this on 97+ Cherokee. Luckily the used kit came with sum T-Case drop spacers, so if I need em I got em.

I would still re-center the trackbar using the method in that thread or look into a new adjustable trackbar. No matter how much lift you add your axle will shift off center.

i put a 3 inch lift and i have 99 cherokee i didnt have to relocate it. i had to get a new one though besuce the bushing were bad. the brackets for the trackbar are slightly slotted so you can lower it a bit i did that on mine and the stock trackbar worked fine. what kind of 3 inch lift you putting in.

I have no idea, I bought it off Craigslist, for only $120 I couldn't refuse. It came with red coils for front, Long & short AAL's for rear, all 4 shocks, and T-Case Spacers.

I guess I'll just take a drill with me just in case, and at least now I know what to do if I do run into this problem. THanks okcjeeper for the thread link

have you installed the lift yet. once you install it i would take measurments. from your stock height then once you install the front half i would measure it stock height i belive is 17" and if your lift gives you over 21" then your going to neeed a new track bar or relocation becuse the lift would be around 3.5 and 4".

Installin in the mornin, been trying to all week but my boss (the wife) has been making me wait, I guess trying to make the anticipation kill me or something. I think I got everything rounded up I needed
U-Bolts, Centering Pins, Lift Kit, Brake Fluid (Gonna go ahead and bleed em), Grease, PB Blaster,my 15gal 200psi compressor, all my tools and impacts, drill w/ bits, and a few other odd and end stuff. I wnt be at the house so Im gonna take everything I can squeeze in the cherokee to make sure I dnt run into a "Oh Crap i needed my impact" or somthing like that

Can you do this mod with 5-6 inches of lift? Or will it only work up to 3"?

3 inch youll get to close to the edge. your better off buying a ajustable or bracket relocation its better in the long run.

yea its not that diffuclt mine took me about 12 `16s hours to do cuz i had cut the c clamps off of the leaf springs and make custom coil retainer clips since when unbolting it striped its self. and using all hand tools and long pipe. oh and in the schools dorm parking lot.

for the AAL your going to need 2 9" c clamps for the smallest so you can compress the springs. i would go with 10 or bigger cuz 9 was tough

K thanks, I had forgot all about the C-clamps on my little store list lol. How much should the short & long AAL net me in the rear? I've never seen a kit with both style leafs included. I'd like a little more than three, right now she sits around 16-1/4 in the rear, bout 2in lower than the front
