TRAC BAR
i recently installed a rough country 3" lift on my 00' xj. i posted for advice or anything else i needed, and was even told by rusty's, and rough country that i would not need an adjustable trac bar. after we fought to get the last lower link in( cause the stock trac bar was too short), and new sway arm bushings i now have a death wobble at 55-60 mph. it had a slight wobble before the lift, but the new sway bush. cured the problem. then when the lift was installed the wobble can back, and twice as worse.
my ?? is. i was told i can just drill another hole 3/4" over from the stock hole on the axle bracket. is this info correct? thanks

You can drill a new hole for the trac bar mount, but make sure you don't get to close to the edge of the mount. That would create a weak stress point that could be a death wish on the interstate if it were to rip out.

balance tires? alignment? do you have an sye?
all factors to this i think. i rode without an adj tracbar for like 6 months after i did my lift and it was fine. if you do get a new adj tracbar, dont get one from rusty's.

yea with a 3" you dont need a sye. unless you have vibes from the rear, shims could take the place of an sye if used properly.. i have a 4.5 " on mine and no sye. can you tell if the DW is originating from the front or rear. did you shim the rear axle?

im pretty sure its the front, and no i didnt shim the rear axle. after i get the new bar i am taking it to a good local mechanic to have him look it over, and align it. then for a set of new tires.

Make sure you center your axle when installing the nex ATB. so you never aligned it after the lift?

i was told by several people the alignment was not affected by the lift. i kinda thought otherwise but just havent had the time to do it. maybe i will have it aligned first before i buy the atb.

The people that told you this are wrong. If the tie rod was one piece, yes. But y ou have a two piece tie rod that tows in the wheels when the vehicle is lifted. Get it aligned, then we can talk about possible causes of death wobble.

Your DW may be a product of worn components. Control arm bushings or track bar bushings can give you a DW that is more pronounced now that you have a lift and the geometry is a little different. Check all of the mentioned components and you can re-align your steering wheel by adjusting the drag link. 1/8" toe in is the recommended toe in for a Cherokee. You can check that yourself.
