Default TPS Screw Broken

So went to replace the TPS today and one of the scews broke off, not uncommon from what Ive read. Go loctite. Tried to use locking pliers and it sheared off with nothing left to grab.

Question: any harm using just the one? Thinking about a little high temp rtv and one screw may be adequate until I can just overhaul the intake and get it over with.

Figuring I am getting close to 300k (289k) and a lot of stock stuff is going to start falling off lol.

This happened to DFlintstone I believe. Think he said he had to use a tap.

Can't comment on whether or not you could get away with it as is, however. I would think with how tight they are on there, they need to be pretty damn tight, though.

Happened to me, used one screw with anti seize.
Been a couple years with no issues at all.

What I needed to hear. Appreciate the quick response. Gut told me it should be fine but never had the TB off of this and wasnt sure if there was any kind of seal that needed to be kept tight.

Thanks again.

On another note to this, should I reset the PCM? I cleared the codes but wasnt sure if it should be adjusting to the new sensor.

This is good to know... knowing my 89, I'll probably wind up snapping both of them.

Don't rush.. Go slow. When in doubt a little heat from a propane torch couldn't hurt with the throttle body off.
